Billing entities can provide multiple language options for their customers and users to choose from. In order to determine which language the user interface is displayed in, there is an order of precedence to the language settings, so that defaults for billing entities can be overridden for customers and by users. The order of precedence is as follows:

The more specific language setting overrides the less specific one, so the language setting for a user overrides that of a billing entity, and that for a billing entity overrides the system default. The user's ability to select a language is dependent on the billing entity having made this available to them.

This means that if a Belgian billing entity provides translations in Flemish, German, and French, the billing entity can have Flemish as their default language, a customer within the billing entity can have German as their default language, and a user within the customer can have French as their language.
